Title: Prop for Midnight Syndicate
Post by: JonnyMac on October 31, 2017, 10:13:29 PM
Ed at Midnight Syndicate contracted our friend Matt Hawkins (www.likeform.com) to build a prop for a short film and their stage show. The heart of the prop is an HC-8+ with a bunch of code written by yours truly. It even has remote control via XBee.

From Matt's shop:

Neat. Is there a video of this in use or do we have to wait for the official release?

I posted a short test video from Matt on YouTube -- doesn't really show off much of the tower animation, but you get a good idea of what Matt did with the display.

Now that's cool. Even the display works. What connection is the display using?

Serial. The display is a SEETRON GLO-416; it's an OLED with a serial backpack.
