Is it possible to remove the pins out of one of your connector cables?  I need to make the custom cable described in the uMP3 article under Audio.  I need to remove the cables from the 3 pin connector and put the red/black into a 2 pin connector and the white into another 2 pin connector.   THought it would be easier to just modify some exisiting jumper cables.   If the pins can be removed?

Yep.  If you look closely at the black plastic shells you'll see little windows that expose the locking table of the metal socket.  Use a pointed object to press this tab while pulling lightly on the wire; it will slip out easily.  Once you have them out, protect the sockets from possible shorts by covering them with heat shrink tubing.
