Title: SSR-2 vs RC-2
Post by: HauntedWolf on October 09, 2014, 12:09:59 PM
Hi all,

I am looking to be able to control 2 Flash Crackers via a Prop-1.  These draw up to 2A each, according to the web page:

http://www.frightprops.com/electronic-firecracker-props/flash-crackers-accessories/flash-cracker.html

I am looking at both the SSR-2 and RC-2 Amigo boards and it looks like either one will do the trick amperage-wise.  What are the benefits to choosing one over the other?  Which would you choose?

Thanks in advance!

I'd be inclined to go with the SSR-2. Both will work, but the surge when close the contacts of the RC-2 will eventually cause pitting. The relays on the SSR-2 are rated for 8A, so you're safe.
