Post by: leucus on September 26, 2011, 04:03:31 PM
sorry to bother you but trying to learn all this stuff over again in less then a week, have a bunch of old ap8s and remember something about clipping pins 8 off the chip to make them work with the prop ones, any clarification would be awesome, also have some of your newer ap-16s which i need to know the exact file type to save as, pretty sure it was a wav file, but remember it had a few other issues also, thanks in advance and hope your proud of me, i actually posted before i called you, lol.

What it sounds like you want serialy communicate with the AP-8 and AP-16. In order to do this you will need to clip the pin 1 and 18 on the ULN2803, which comes with the Prop-1 or you can replace the current UNL with a ULN2003A

Clarification on ULN "clipping" is here:

We have a whole section in the forums called "Documentation" (hint, hint).  Inside there you'll find an AP-16+ thread with the docs (that are also available on the product page on our main site).
