John B and I are both in Alaska, visiting our families, and working in between the fun. I'm blessed with a wonderful brother-in-law who took my sister and me fishing -- and we had a very good day!

Those are halibut. My sister actually caught two more small ones that we put back, and a MONSTER that bit through the line just as she had it at the surface. Two of those three beauties, along with the other fish on the board, are going back to CA with me next week. I may need a bigger freezer....

You're both correct - Halibut is one of the several types of Flounder. Caught hailbut many times here off the CA coast.
Was at ScareLA last year but missed it this year :(
